Q&A

By Ilona Kauremszky

Q: I am considering a trip to Queensland, Australia and would like to avoid the wet season. Could you tell me what months are a good time to travel there? I plan on staying 6-8 weeks. I would like to start in Brisbane and travel on to the Sunshine coast areas.

A: A Canadian representative from the Australian Tourist Commission reports that the Brisbane/Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast have an average of 12 rainy days per month in the December - March period.

"The rest of the year averages 7 rainy days per month, but doesn't keep these areas from being a favorite with Canadian snowbirds," says rep Anne Cousineau of the Australian Tourist Commission.
