Q&A

By Ilona Kauremszky

Q: My spouse and I would like to travel to New Orleans and possibly Baton Rouge. Could you please give me and address or web site where we can find out when is the best time to go (not Mardi Gras) and of course the tourist attractions. Any info you can offer would be a tremendous help.

A: Since the summer season is known to climb up to a high 90F around the state's capital of Baton Rouge, it gets quite hot and sticky. But if discounted prices are what you seek, you'll find that across the state many hotels serve up special discounts at this time. However, if you wish to indulge in great weather, spring is the best time to take in all the scenery.

The Baton Rouge Tourism Office can be reached in North America at toll-free 1.800.LA.ROUGE or visit www.visitbatonrouge.com. For more travel details on the Big Easy, the New Orleans Convention Bureau can be reached at www.neworleanscvb.com.
