Q&A

Q: So many movies are filmed outside of Canada or the United States. Every time I watch a film, you see beautiful beaches or some faraway place. While I admit I don’t travel much, I would like to someday. Do you know what some of the big films are that have been filmed around the world recently?

A: Some of the biggest blockbusters of late have been the latest James Bond thriller, Casino Royale, shot on location in the Bahamas (www.bahamas.com). The Da Vinci Code was the adaptation of Dan Brown's bestseller shot in England (www.visitbritain.com), Scotland (www.visitscotland.com), Malta (www.visitmalta.com), and France (http://www.franceguide.com/. For fans of France, Sophia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette was shot there. Locations included Versailles (chateauversailles.fr) and the Palais Garnier, home to the Opera National (operadeparis.fr).

Budget Travel released a top 10 list of movies that inspired travel in 2006 which you can access by visiting http://www.budgettravelonline.com/bt-dyn/content/article/2006/11/08/AR2006110801425.html
