Q&A by Ilona Kauremszky

Q: I’ve heard so many mixed reports on that ferry going across Lake Ontario. Is it finally up and running?

A: Yes. The new owners of the CAT which was formerly known as “The Breeze” report North America’s latest high speed ferry service between Toronto, Ontario and Rochester, New York is up and running. Currently now until September 5th, the ferry has introduced a summer savings deal. Children under the age of 13 years can enjoy a complimentary passage on The CAT.

The PR folks say the summer promotion is designed to encourage families to experience the kid-friendly vessel and its numerous family-oriented amenities. On board there are two theatres featuring movies and complimentary programming, a video arcade and a toy-stocked playroom. The ride lasts about 2.5 hours.

Packages include travel on The CAT and start at Cdn $89 per person. For reservations and more information, visit www.catfastferry.com or call 1-877-283-7327
