Q: Is it possible to visit the culinary school in upstate New York? I canít remember the name and havenít been able to find any information on them.

A: The historic property of the Culinary Institute of America is located in the heart of bucolic Hudson Valley right in Hyde Park. The CIA is open for public tours by current CIA students and the famous cooking school has five student-staff restaurants open on its campus.

The CIA is located 1 Ĺ hours north of New York City on US Route 9. To schedule a tour, contact the Admissions Department at 1-800-CULINARY (285-4627). Tours are available on Mondays at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., Wednesdays at 4 p.m., and Thursdays at 4 p.m. Tours cost $5US per person. Reservations are required.
