Q&A

By Ilona Kauremszky

Q: We donít want to get hit by a hurricane in the Caribbean. When is this season over?

A: Hurricane season stretches from the beginning of June to the end of November. In recent years, several weather centres have started offering short-term predictions for storm activity available on the Internet. This involves heavy duty maps some showing wind speed probability and wind history.

For the latest news on hurricanes, you can visit the Atlantic Tropical Weather Center (www.atwc.org), The National Hurricane Centre (www.nhc.noaa.gov), and the Caribbean Hurricane Network (www.stormcarib.com).
