Q&A

By Ilona Kauremszky

Q: I will be travelling to Mexico in September. I was wondering if it's better to take Canadian or U.S. dollars as spending money.

A: As a rule of thumb it's always important to have the visiting country's currency on hand when making purchases or paying for services. Once there, you'll be able to convert your Canadian dollars for pesos at any bank, currency exchange booth or hotel.

However once you start your shopping spree you'll most likely discover vendors love selling their unique handcrafts and gorgeous textiles with many taking either currency. To avoid currency exchange problems visit a reputable institution like a bank or currency exchange bureau.
