Q&A

Q: I recently sold my mobile home that I used to drive my wife and I to Florida every winter. Could you suggest the names of places in Florida preferably on the Gulf of Mexico side where mobile rentals are available?

A: For listings of mobile homes simply visit the official Florida tourism website, Visit Florida at www.VISITFLORIDA.com. Type in mobile homes or mobile homes and Gulf of Mexico in the search feature “find” on the web site’s home page and you will see a listing of mobile homes available.

Once you hone down a part of the state you can also make inquiries through the various regional tourism offices too. For instance, the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce can be reached online at www.visitpensacola.com or at toll-free 800-874-1234. Naples, Marco Island and the Everglades have a Convention and Visitors Bureau you can visit online at http://www.paradisecoast.com/ or call toll-free 800-688-3600.

In Pensacola, Heritage Oaks RV and Mobile Home Park (www.heritageoaksrvp.com) has about 15 home rentals for long term rentals with a minimum six month stay.

For more information, call them at toll-free 1-866-577-PARK(7275). MHPlanet.com is an online network of mobile homes available to buy, sell or rent across the US. To date they have over 18,000 manufactured homes listed.

For more information contact them at toll-free 888-830-2593 or visit their web site.
