Q&A

By Ilona Kauremszky

Q: I'd like to tell you that I read your column each week and enjoy it very much. My daughter and her boyfriend are going to a wedding in the Bahamas and are driving to Florida and want to take a boat over to Nassua. They have heard that there is no boat service that does this. I can't believe there are no boats that go across. I would greatly appreciate your help.

A: Unfortunately, your daughter and her boyfriend are correct. I contacted Cherry Upton, a representative at the Bahamas Tourism Office who says while there are no boat services, cruise ships do travel from Florida to Nassau for weekend excursions. They include Carnival and Royal Caribbean.

Any travel agent can arrange the travel. For more travel-related information on Bahamas, log onto the Bahamas web sites www.bahamas.com or call toll free 1-800-667-3777.
