Q&A

By Ilona Kauremszky

Q: Do you have any getaway tips to help me fight the February blahs?

A: The relaxing setting of a country inn just might do the fixing. These places are styled with comfort in mind and act as a retreat for the body and the soul as many inns are equipped with state-of-the-art spa facilities. Over at the Hockley Valley Resort, guests dawn luxurious robes and slippers. The owners swear that you never have to get out of the robe, even when it's time to munch. A quick 45-minute drive from Toronto, the resort is nestled on 300 acres of countryside in Orangeville. (For reservations call 519-942-0754).

Near St. Jacobs, a historic 1850 hotel and former stagecoach stop has been transformed into the elegant Maryhill Country Inn. Innkeepers Jack and Anita Vossepoel are offering several packages at this lovely getaway. For more details call: (519) 648-3098.

If you feel like rolling the dice, the Casino Windsor Hotel has a health spa and pool, four restaurants and two floors of gaming action. Until April, the Casino Windsor Hotel is offering an amazing $89 weekday rate. For reservations call 1-800-991-7777.
