Q: I'm newly divorced and will be travelling this spring with some girlfriends. (They are all married.) Do I have to provide marriage information on my passport?

A: Regarding marriage data for divorces, Passport Canada reports this information is required under the following three scenarios: If you're applying for a passport for a child under the age of 16; If you married a non-British subject prior to January 1, 1947 and if you're planning on applying for a passport using your married name.

For other passport related inquiries you can call them at toll-free 1 800 567-6868 or visit one of the 30 regional offices. Passport Canada offices will be closed during Easter on March 25 and March 28.

To find out where the nearest location is for you, you can visit the Passport Canada web site at www.ppt.gc.ca and click on Contact Us. A color-coded map of Canada will appear. Click on Ontario and a list of Ontario offices will result.
