Q&A

By Ilona Kauremszky

Q: At a holiday party I recently attended someone told me they took the red eye when they took a trip. I didnít want to look stupid so I just nodded my head appearing to know what they were saying. I really didnít. Iím hoping you could inform me.

A: Red-eye is industry lingo for flights that depart late at night and arrive early in the morning. The times are generally between 10pm and 7am. Next time youíre at the airport you might spot someone with red eyes or encounter the symptom yourself. This condition is usually caused by dehydration, lack of sleep, and jet lag.
