Q: Myself and three friends are travelling west. We were thinking about visiting The Corner Gas Set in Saskatchewan. Any suggestions would be great.

A: For details on the Corner Gas television show, I contacted Corner Gas guru and aficionado Michele Sponagle. Her number-one selling book, Tales From Dog River: The Complete Corner Gas Guide which is published by Penguin Canada includes insider info and gossip and is a must-have for TV buffs of this popular show.

Michele says, “There are tours available of the most popular sites seen in the show. It is shot mainly in two locations--- a sound stage in Regina and the town of Rouleau (about an hour from Regina).” Contact CNT Tours ( for tour details.

Michele adds, “They (CNT Conventions’n Tours) run tours out of Regina and Moose Jaw. They don't run tours over the winter.” The show films from spring (April/May) and wraps up in November at the latest.

“Even without going on a formal tour, you can still drive to Rouleau yourself to see many of the buildings (including the Dog River police station, the bar, The Ruby and the gas station itself) that are featured in the show,” she says and concludes by offering this insider tip. “The Corner Gas tours are really popular so book early!”
