Q&A

By Ilona Kauremszky

Q: My husband and I recently officially became seniors. Do you know whether we can join any groups as we’re planning on traveling to Florida in early February?

A: Florida happens to be one of the most popular places for sun seeking seniors especially for those Canadians who wish to soak up the sunlight and ditch the snow shovel. One organization you might wish to check out focuses on all things seniors-related and is perfect for Canadian snowbirds.

No matter where the warm destination lies the Canadian Snowbird Association is the only Canada-wide organization dedicated to the snowbird lifestyle. Members enjoy a long list of benefits that includes CSA Auto Club, discounts on select hotels and more.

For more membership information you can contact the Canadian Snowbird Association at 416-391-9000, toll-free 1-800-265-3200 or visit them online at http://www.snowbirds.org. Annual membership fees per couple cost $20.

The CSA staff is very knowledgeable on border issues and regulations concerning seniors so they can help clarify any grey that you might have on traveling to the U.S.
