Q: As a grandfather, I am most interested in having my grandson visit some of the World War II battlefields. Do you know of a company that offers tours on this topic? I value your suggestions and welcome any ideas.

From Holland Liberation Tours to European Battlefield Tours, whatever your interest is Iím sure youíll be able to find a tour here. Currently two special tours on the 65th anniversary of D Day still have bookings available but contact them soon as the company reports spots are filling up. Keeping the Memory Alive Tour which costs $3, 695 based on double occupancy includes roundtrip airfare, daily breakfast and dinner, ground transportation, sightseeing guides, and accommodation.

Keeping the Memory Alive Tour dates are departure on May 30, 2009 with return on June 10, 2009. The other escorted tour is a special D-Day 65th Anniversary Legion Magazine tour with a visit to the Vimy Ridge Memorial and a night in Paris.

Your grandson can also attend the official Veteranís Day Canada Ceremonies to commemorate the 65th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy. This trip is priced at $3,145 based on double occupancy and includes roundtrip airfare, accommodations, daily breakfast with welcome and farewell dinner, and all ground transportation.
